Dr. Yann Brouet
Welcome to my website :)
Postdoctoral researcher at the Physics Institute of University of Bern since August 2014. I develop methods of interpretation of data obtained from microwave remote sensing instruments, especially dedicated to the exploration of the Solar System bodies. These methods are based on laboratory measurements of dielectric properties between 1 MHz and 200 GHz of planetary analogue materials, with controlled physical properties, and also on theoretical developments related to radiative transfer. I apply these methods to the study of the interior of the comet 67P/C-G (Rosetta mission) and Mars (Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and Mars express missions). In the perspective of the NASA Europa Clipper mission and the ESA JUICE mission, I develop new dielectric models for the radar investigation of the subsurface of Jupiter's icy satellites, with an emphasis on the detection and the characterization of liquid water reservoirs and icy crust/ocean interfaces.
