The Planetary Imaging Group (PIG), led by Prof. Nicolas Thomas, is part of the Space Research and Planetary Sciences Division of the Physikalishes Intitut at the University of Bern. The Planetary Imaging Group focuses on the interaction of light with the surfaces of solar system bodies and particularly on the physics of dynamic phenomena involving ices and volatiles species.
Our group is funded through the Kanton of Bern, the Swiss National Science Foundation, the Center for Space and Habitability and the Swiss Space Office via the PRODEX mechanism of the European Space Agency.
